First Impression: Incoco Nail Polish Applique

Since I was starting to get back into doing my nails... I decided I would try these nail polish sticker thingys I got as a sample from Septembers Birchbox. I have seen so many people using the Sally Hansen ones and say that they love it so I figured, why not give it a go!

Incoco Nail Polish Applique in 'Femme Fatale' $8.99

Description
Real nail polish stickies that are pre-made and pre-designed with a base coat, color and top coat in each nail sticky. You can shape them to your nail and file off the excess with a nail file. No need to wait for drying and you can do your nails in minutes! Anywhere, anytime!

First Impression
I know I suck badly at painting my nails with real nail polish, so I thought these stickers would be a lot easier... but apparently... I also suck at putting stickers on my nails too! They didnt take nearly as long as if you had to paint your nails, it took me about 10-15 minutes to apply all of them. However, they claim that you can stretch them, shape them, and reapply them, but I dont think they quite lived up to that claim =( When I did them, once I put them on my nail, it was STUCK there. If I tried to take it off and reapply, it would stretch and get wrinkled.. not so pretty.. Also, I tried to file off the excess on the sides of the nail since the stickers were too big, and they wouldnt file off nicely, so I just ended up pushing it in. I also felt like you can tell they are stickers and not actual nail polish, but it might have been the leopard print design that threw me off.

Overall Thoughts
Would I purchase it again and give it another try? Probably, since it only took me 10-15 minutes. I saw some really cute designs on their website http://www.incoco.com/ which might suit me a little better than the leopard print. They also have solid colors and french tips in various colors and glitters. Im unsure about how long these things will last on my nail, or if they chip like regular nail polish.. I guess only time will tell!

Whats your take on nail polish stickers? Have you tried any?

Until next time! Over and Out!

Favorite Fall Lip Balm: Korres Lip Butter 'Wild Rose'

Ive had this lip balm for about a year and half now, its the Korres Lip Butter in 'Wild Rose' and I used it a lot at first and then I kind of forgot about it. But, since I was experimenting with Fall lip colors recently, I rediscovered this little gem that works perfectly for the Fall season! Especially if you're a little hesitant when it comes to darker lip colors or even reds, this is the product to try.

Description
It works well just on its own, because it gives your lips a flushed plummy red color which is not bold at all, more like a tint. It looks really dark in the jar, but it goes on very lightly and sheer. It moisturizes amazingly well with Shea Butter and Rice Wax. Plus, Korres is an "all natural" brand, so you know its good for your lips! The texture feels literally like butter and it goes on so smoothly. It also has a shiny finish so its almost like a lip balm and gloss in one!

Review
These lipbalms are so worth it. They condition your lips very well and they arent greasy or feel cakey. They are great to use on their own, but they could also be paired with a gloss if you want that added "oomph!". However, I would not recommend using these under a lipstick. The texture is sooo creamy that it creates too much movement if you put a lipstick over it. Your lipstick will just slip all over the place and it will be a big mess! Awesome to wear for the Fall Season or if you want a little extra tint to your lips =)

Nail Polish Obsessed: Essie

I dont know why Ive been so nail polish obsessed recently!! I hardly ever do my nails because all my previous jobs had a "no nail polish rule" so I got used to having my nails bare. But recently I just started getting back into painting them, and I am currently obsessed with Essie Nail Polish!! I love the bottle it comes in, I think its a lot cuter than other nail polish bottles and they have really unique colors!

I went to CVS and Target this past week because I wanted to get a few of the Fall Collection Nail Polishes from Essie. I got 3 out of 4 that I wanted which were Carry On, Very Structured, and Case Study. I was sad that Power Clutch was sold out at both locations, but oh wells, I can always find a dupe for it right?! I also picked up some other colors that caught my eye and the Beauty Secrets Base Coat and Top Coat from Sally's Beauty Supply when I was in San Diego!

Here are the colors I snagged!

L to R: Carry On, Very Structured, and Case Study

L to R: Carry On, Very Structured and Case Study

L to R: Carry On, Very Structured, and Case Study

Carry On - deep burgundy
Very Structured - rusty burnt sienna
Case Study - soft camel beige

Thoughts
These polishes are very opaque, so one coat on your nail and you really get the basic jist of the color. I always do two coats though just to make sure, I feel like they dont chip as fast if you layer the nail polish. They come out really shiny too, I think they are all a cream texture.. (is that a term for nail polish?) they dont have any sparkles in them either, which I kind of like with nail polish. Keep it classic and simple I guess. I currently have on Carry On which is sooo perfect for the Fall Season! Im actually horrible at painting nails so I didnt post a photo of it, but as I get better, Ill include photos =)

Chinchilly and Turquoise & Caicos were impulsive purchases! But look how pretty they are! How could I not get them! I also thought Chinchilly would be a nice Fall color =)

L to R: Chinchilly and Turquoise & Caicos

L to R: Chinchilly and Turquoise & Caicos

L to R: Chinchilly and Turquoise & Caicos

Chinchilly - granite gray
Turquoise & Caicos - tropical aqua

Thoughts
I had to had to had to get Turquoise & Caicos it was just screaming my name when I went to Target! I basically love anything thats aqua, turquoise, sea foam, mint green, or just anything in that color hue, so this one was right up my alley! Its more of a Summer/Spring color, but I thought I should get it now because these Essie Nail Polishes sell out soooo fast where Im from, its riDONKulous! Chinchilly I bought partly for the name =) Its so fun to say, "Chinchilly!" Ok I might have had too much caffeine today.. just putting it out there!

And these are the Base and Top Coats I had to pick up from Sally's Beauty Supply in San Diego, since we dont have a Sally's in Hawaii, I figured I might as well get it now while I can! These are from Beauty Secrets and the bottles are GARGANTUAN! (is that how you spell it?! Gar-gan-chu-an?! idk! you get what Im trying to say, they're HUGE! last me a lifetime!)

The Essie Polishes were $7.79 each at Target and I believe $7.99 at CVS. I totally forgot how much the Beauty Secrets Base Coat and Top Coat were, but I think they were around $6-$7... Wow! I spent close to $60 on nail stuff! WTH! Yes, being a girl can be very expensive my friends...

Until next time... TaTa!

Review: Eyeko Line and Shine Duo Color Pencil for Eyes

Hey! Im back again! Early this month I went on our honeymoon trip to California and then it was my birthday this past Thursday so I didnt really have much time to blog, but Im back now! I just received my Eyeko Ambassador Gift recently so I decided to give you guys a short review on it. I think they are in the process of revamping their website and launching new products so this particular product isnt on their website anymore =( but hopefully it will be available again soon because Im really liking this product.

Description & Review
Its an eye pencil that works like an eyeliner and eyeshadow in one. You can either use it as a base for eyeshadow or you can line your eyes with them. The duo that I received contained 'Electric Blue' which has a matte finish, and 'Teal' which has a more metallic sparkly finish. Both colors are amazing and highly pigmented. Only thing about this is that you need to set it after application otherwise it will smear. The wierd thing though, is that its really hard to take off, you have to use a waterproof makeup remover in order to get all the product off your eyes. Its a great product for Summer, but since its Fall, I probably wont be using this very much.

Thanks it for this short review! See you all laters!

Review: July's Birchbox

Since I didnt do a reveal about what I got in July's Birchbox, I thought I would do a review of all the products I got since I actually used all of them this past month. The results were very good actually and it will probably help me in making future decisions about certain beauty products =)

Zoya Touch Collection in 'Shay' $8 0.5ml

Description:
"Zoyas new Touch Collection has three spot-on taupe shades for your minimalist pleasure...extremely opaque with just a touch of shimmer...they also last about 50% longer than other brands - after a full week of wear, you will still be chip-free."

Review:
Ive never owned any Zoya nail polishes before this, and now I think to myself.. "Why the heck not?!" these polishes are so awesome! They are super opaque, one coat covered majority of my nail, and with hardly any streaks! It has a slightly glossy finish which is also really great, I didnt even use a topcoat in the photo! Just used two coats. The color 'Shay' that I got is a beautiful pinky nude with warm taupy undertone, very chic and elegant, it would be a great color to use for a wedding! They dry fully in about 10 minutes and they do live up to claim that they last long! I fool around on my guitar a lot (trust me, I am no Jimi Hendrix), and the nails on my right hand always chip because of the contact my nails get with the strings... and the polish didnt come off one bit! Amazing! I will definetly be buying other colors in the future =P

Philosophy Purity Made Simple One Step Facial Cleanser $32 16oz

Description:
"The award winning , one step daily facial cleanser removes makeup, cleanses, tones, and lightly hydrates the skin. Quickly dissolves dirt, oil and makeup to deep clean pores while maintaining the skins proper moisture levels. Gentle enough for the eye area and even for the most sensitive skin."

Review:
Ive seen this product so many times at department stores and of course Sephora... but since I break out easily, I was a little weary about trying it. But miraculously, this facial cleanser didnt make me breakout, and it really helped to hydrate my skin a bit. Its kind of watery, which I didnt really like, but it does help to take off my makeup well. The great thing about this product is that its gentle enough to use around the eye area! Most cleansers always say to avoid the eye area, but this stuff doesnt sting or irritate your eyes, it just takes away the makeup! Im really looking into buying the full sized product, but since I got another facial cleanser sample in August's Birchbox, Im going to test that one out first =)

AHAVA Mineral Hand Cream $20 3.4oz

Description:
"Loaded with soothing minerals, this healing cream also helps with irritated skin and eczema. Made with pure Dead Sea minerals, this smooth, quick-absorbing lotion deeply hydrates dry skin and rough fingers. The key to this light but nourishing cream is AHAVA’s Mineral Skin Osmoter™, which is a potent compound of magnesium, calcium, potassium, and zinc that is designed to create the optimal balance in your skin. It helps to draw the moisture from the lower levels of skin to the surface to keep hands soft and healthy. Witch hazel helps and allantoin repairs cracked skin."

Review:
This was an 'ok' product for me.. It has a powdery smell which some people might like, I didnt really mind the smell... but it kind of made my hands feel a little greasy... It soaked it really quickly though, which is a plus, and it did make my hands feel softer since it hydrated fairly well. It left a little sheen on my hands which I didnt quite care for. I still like the Seed Bodycare Hand Cream better =)

Redken Shine Flash 02 Glistening Mist (only available at Redken Salons)

Description:
"Redkens signature Shine-On Complex as antioxidant-rich camelina oil and vitamin B5 to condition strands. It smoothes the surface of hair to give you a mirror-like finish. Use on dry hair to tame flyaways and add a shiny finish to hair. Appropriate for all hair types."

Review:
I instantly loved this product the first time I tried it, and it was also the product I was most excited to test out =) It really does give your hair a nice and healthy shine. I like to lightly mist this all over my hair and then comb it out so it spreads evenly. If I have any strays or flyaways, I will spray it directly onto my palms and smooth it over my hair. It gives your hair a healthy and glossy appearance. It smells really good too! Be careful not to use too much of this product, if you do, it will make your hair feel greasy! Less is more with this stuff! Oh and use it only on dry hair =)

Overall Thoughts

These shadows are all new to the UD line and they apply sooooo well! They are super duper pigmented and go on very smoothly. A little really goes a long way with these shadows, I was really impressed! I love all the iridescent and vibrant colors, they show up almost exactly how they look in the palette. If you dont own a lot of UD eyeshadows, I really recommend this palette. Its really diverse and you can create a million different looks with it =) The case gets a little annoying because finger prints show up every single time you touch the darn thing!

Did you get the new UD 15 Year Anniversary Collection? What were your thoughts?

Review: Eyeko Graffiti Eyeliner Pen, Fat Balm, and Liptastik

Eyeko means 'Love' in Japanese, but it is also a cosmetics brand from London! Ive seen and heard about their products before, but never actually tried it until about a month ago, and I was sooo happy I was able to try them =) They have great great products that are sooooo affordable, and they are all so cute and fun! Hope you enjoy!

 Graffiti Eyeliner Pen $8

This product was my FAVORITE out of the bunch! It is the most EASIEST liquid liner that I have used EVER! It looks just like a pen, so it can give you the straightest lines and perfect cat eyes! Sometimes with liquid liners, the lines are hard to get even because the liquid will come out in clumps, but this doesnt at all, it stays moist throughout application!

Another great thing, it lasts allllll dayyyyyy looooong and will not flake like other liquid liners! The quality of this product is top notch, and with a price of $8, you really cant go wrong. I would buy this even if it was $20!

Fat Balm Strawberry with SPF 15 $10

If you are shy about bold lips, this is the best product to test the waters with! Its a lip balm, but it has a stronger tint than most lip balms I have tried. The Strawberry one that I got has a slightly red tint to it which is not too bold, but you can still tell that there's color on your lips! The finish of this product is awesome! It has little flecks in it and it makes your lips look slightly glossy! You wouldnt need lipstick or lipgloss with this product, it looks amazing all on its own! I am dying to try the other colors and flavors they have available! Also, it smells great too!

Liptastik in 'Hot Lips' and Lip Lover' $10

These glossy lip pencils are soooo convenient! They are a lipstick, lip pencil and lip gloss all wrapped up to make one fabulous product! The color on these pencils are so intense and soooo gorgeous! Although I love wearing bold lips, my day job doesnt allow me to wear these, but they are so perfect for a night out with the girls or a date night with my husband =) They are easy to apply and so pretty! 'Hot Lips' is a bright fuschia color, and 'Lip Lover' looks more like an orange based red when worn. Both gorgeous colors! Oh, and they last long too considering their glossiness =) I found these are best worn alone without lipbalm because it tends to give too much slip.

Hot Lips
Lip Lover
Overall Thoughts

These are definetly products where you dont really need to think to buy. The packaging is cute, the price is right, and their products are just amazing! I think most of their products are made for functionality purposes, where its easy to use and you can use them on the go. Perfect for those of you who have busy lifestyles and are on-the-go a lot.. like ME!

Have you tried any Eyeko products? If you have, what did you think? If you havent, TRY IT! lol

Review: Tarte neutralEYES Palette and 12-Hour Amazonian Clay Blush

Hey everyone!

I have been dying to try the Tarte 12-Hour Amazonian Clay Blushes FOREVER and I finally ordered them online! I bought the neutralEYES palette along with it since Ive never tried any of their e/s before, I thought, what the heck, I love palettes, so I might as well give it a go!

Amazonian Clay 12-Hour Blush 'Dollface' and 'Tipsy' $25 each

Dollface: Light baby pink
Tipsy: Coral pink

I heard so many great things about these blushes, and now I know why! Both colors are so pretty, and they do stay on very very long. I wouldnt really say it stays on for 12-hours straight, but it does stay on for an entire workday (8 hours). It did fade a bit towards the evening time.. The texture is very powdery and goes on a bit sheer, so is easy to build, and its great for layering over a cream blush! Which also makes it last a bit longer =) I use 'Dollface' for work almost everyday! It gives me a natural youthful blushing kind of look, very subtle. 'Tipsy' is a little brighter coral pink color thats perfect for a summer daytime look!

'Tipsy' and 'Dollface' swatches

neutralEYES Natural Eyeshadow Palette II $44

Ok, to tell you the truth, I was very disappointed with this palette =( I tried so many different ways to make this palette work, but it just didnt cut it for me... The cool thing though about this palette is that the top row of 5 shadows are all matte, the bottom 5 colors are all shimmer, and it comes in a cute case! However, the colors all came out a little muddy, and just kind of... 'blah!'. The light colors all come out looking the same, even with a primer underneath (I tried 3 different primers). The brown colors came out a little more pigmented, I think just because they are darker colors, but still a bit muddy, and the light shimmery ones are more shimmer than color. Oh.. so sad =( still going to try and make it work though =))

It also came with an emphasEYES aqua-gel eyeliner in 'Brown' which is not bad.. Its very innovative to have a gel liner in a pencil form, but it goes on really wet, which I would not recommend for the waterline (it will get in your eyes). It did stay on for pretty long though.. The Lifted Eye Primer is a bit thick and a little too dry for me, so I still prefer the Too Faced Shadow Insurance, or the UD Primer Potion.

First 4 colors on the left
Other 6 colors on the right (sorry I swatched it a bunch before this photo was taken)

Overall Thoughts:

The Amazonian Clay 12-Hour Blushes are awesome! I am definetly buying other colors of this! The neutralEYES palette, didnt work so well for me, but maybe Im just using it the wrong way or not with the right products, dont know, but its still a work in progress for making this palette work =) The aqua-gel liner, worked ok, might try other colors in the future. The Lifted Eye Primer, probably wont buy the full size and just stick to the ones I currently love.

Have you tried any of these products? or any products from Tarte that you love too?

Beauty Product Obsession: Surf Baby! Powerpoint Eye Pencil 'Blue Noon'

Ever since I bought the LE Powerpoint Eye Pencil in 'Blue Noon' from the MAC Surf Baby! Collection, I have worn it practically everyday! I am in loooove with this color!! Its a bright teal sea blue color that can really compliment any eye color! I have naturally brown eyes and it just brightens me up with a little hint of color without wearing any eyeshadow. I have green contacts too which I wear and with this eye liner it makes the green in the contacts look more prominent, like I have a twinkle in my eye or something..

I am really starting to like the MAC Powerpoint Eye Pencils because they have a creamy texture which isnt harsh on your waterline, plus its waterproof, so it doesnt move at all! I thought I would swear by the UD 24/7 liners, but these powerpoint ones are definetly living up to their claims.

Sorry this post isnt too informational, but I just had to share my newest obsession! lol I tried taking a photo of a swatch, but it didnt really come out true to color.. It definetly looks a lot better when you see it worn in person =p I promise I am getting a real camera soon!! Going on a trip in September so I need a camera ASAP =)

My attempt at a swatch
Did you get this eyeliner from this summer collection? Whats your current beauty product obsession?

Review: (seed) Bodycare

Hello Beautiful People!

So sorry again I have been gone for so long =( But I have a new great product to talk about that I have been using for the past couple of months, and I have been wanting to review it since I got it!

This brand contacted me back in... April I believe, and they sent me a few products to try out =) It was the first time any company has asked me to try their products, so I was really really excited about it! Even more so when I got the products because I ended up loving them!

(seed) Bodycare is a 100% natural brand, which I believe is sold at Whole Foods and a few drugstores. I never heard of this brand before being contacted by them, so I didnt know what to expect. Fortunately, all the products ended up working really great!

From Left to Right: Body Cream 'Invigorating Citrus', Body Lotion 'Lavendar and Sage', Healthy Hand Cream Fragrance Free

Body Cream 'Invigorating Citrus'

Great body cream if you have really dry skin. I tend to get really dry to the point where my skin will start cracking a bit, but using this body cream everyday has really helped to make my skin, especially my legs look a lot smoother! I use this in the mornings because it has that nice Citrus smell, which is an instant 'pick me upper'! I tend to get headaches if I smell a fragrance that is too strong, but this is really light and not overpowering!

Body Lotion 'Lavendar and Sage'

I looove the smell of Lavendar, but I was weary of the Sage part.. At first I didnt really like the smell of the Sage, but I found that it has a sort of spa like affect when you use it! I use this one mainly at night, right before going to bed. Its very very lightweight and doesnt feel all sticky and greasy like some lotions do, which is kind of a pet peeve I have with lotions. It sinks right into the skin and makes you feel relaxed! Just what I need after a loooong day =)

Healthy Hand Cream 'Fragrance-Free'

Usually hand creams for me have never really won me over, just because I dont like that gross slimy feeling after using it and then you cant grab anything because your hands feel like you just rubbed butter all over them. However, this hand cream, although its thick, it doesnt leave a residue! Being a makeup artist, I have to sanitize my hands very very often, and because of it, my hands get really dry and my cuticles are just horrible. This product makes my hands feel so soft! The only downfall about the fragrance free, is that it has that typical lotion smell, which isnt bad, but would be better if it had a nice light fragrance.

Borghese 10 Piece Brush Set

Hi Hi Hi!!! Im soooo sorry Ive been away for sooooo long!! Finished moving everything into our new place finally!!! Ugh.. what a pain in the butt! But anyways.. Im back! Ive been meaning to do this post for a while since I got these brushes a couple months ago from Costco! Of all places right?! My mom was there while I was doing a prom makeover and called me to see if I wanted them. I never heard of the brand before.. so I said, 'Why not?! For $30, Ill give it a go!' sooo... If you would like to know my thoughts, keep reading!

Description:
10 Piece Brush Set w/ Brush Roll

Price: $30 @ Costco

#204 Angled Eye/Brow Brush
I use this one mainly for the brows using powder. Its very stiff but a little too thick for me to use with a gel or liquid liner.

#202 Angled Eye Contour Brush
This brush is waaay to big for me to use for contouring the eye and its really dense so it packs a little too much color on. However, I think it works well with pigments when you just want a dab of color.

#203 Domed Smudge Brush
Again, a little too large as a smudge brush, but very dense. If it were more like a pencil brush, I could definetly use this. Other than that, I hardly ever use this brush.

#101 Angled Contour Brush
This is very very similar to the Sigma contour brush. Its almost identical, accept this one is a bit larger and has more bristles. After cleaning it a few times, it starts to fan outwards so you really need to shape this brush after cleaning so it doesnt loose shape.

#104 Rounded Foundation Brush
My favorite brush out of the entire bunch! Ive never used a brush like this to apply foundation before, but it is amazing!! Wow.. When I first saw it I thought.. 'What the heck am I gonna do with this brush?!' But its really great for getting into the nooks and crannys, especially around the nose area. It also gives foundation a nice smooth and even finish!

#102 Duo-Fiber Blending Brush
Its a smaller sized duo-fiber brush, so I think it works great for adding contour or highlight to the cheekbones. Its pretty dense and not as soft as some other duo-fiber brushes, so you get more color with this brush.

#201 Eyeshadow Brush
Another large brush.. it does work well for adding a wash of color, but its very thick so its a bit hard to place color exactly where you want it.

#105 Concealer Brush
Great concealer brush! It works exactly the same as my Sigma concealer brush, so two thumbs up for this one! Its very dense and has synthetic bristles. Great for blemishes or under the eye area.

#200 Eye Powder Fluff Brush
I love this brush also! Although its a bit large, its very fluffy, so it works great for blending out the crease! I think Ive used this brush every single time Ive done makeup since Ive gotten it =)

#100 Powder Kabuki Brush (not shown in above picture)
Hmm.. its not dense enough to really blend, and it sheds a ton!! I use this mainly just to dab powder around the T-zone, but other than that, Ive found no other great uses for this one =(

Overall Thoughts:
I would rate this brush set 3.5 out of 5 stars. The quality is not the greatest, but for $30, I wouldnt expect anything comparable to MAC or Sigma brushes. However, it did come with a few brushes that are part of my staples now, so Im really glad I decided to get these =)

My Recommendations:
  • Rounded Foundation Brush
  • Duo-Fiber Blending Brush
  • Eye Powder Fluff Brush
  • Concealer Brush
Have you tried these brushes before? Have you heard of this brand?
