Wanted Wednesday's Beauty List: April 6, 2011

I guess this is sort of like a wishlist, but I like to call it my 'Wanted' List, because they are things that I really really want, or have wanted for some time now, that I just havent been able to get or they havent been released yet. Every week my 'Wanted' list changes because I either lost interest, something better came out, or its not available anymore. So, I think from now on, I am going to call this 'Wanted Wednesdays!' where every Wednesday I will posted a 'Wanted' list of some things I am keeping my eye on for the week =) I know.. middle of the week, but it wouldnt have rhymed with 'Wanted Mondays'...

Smashbox 'Limitless Beauty Kit' $39 and Softbox Lipgloss Collection $29

EvePearl 'Magic Salmon Concealer Trio' $50

MAC Powerpoint Eye Pencil 'So There Jade' $14.50

Top 3: Spring Fragrances 2011

When you think of Spring, you automatically think... EASTER! Yes, I love coloring eggs, eating peeps and chocolate bunnies too, but aside from Easter, when I think of Spring, I think of flowers, fresh air and freshly cut grass, Spring appeals to your senses! So, what better way to start this Easter Spring week with my top Spring Fragrances of the season!

Chloe 'Rosebud' (Limited Edition Bottle)
Chloe fragrances have been so popular throughout the years because of its chic, classy and ultra feminine scent. Just recently they launched this brand new fragrance called 'Chloe Rosebud' which is, sadly to say, a limited edition, but I couldnt resist talking about it. The bottle is the same as the original Chloe but with a rose colored ribbon! So pretty! You can really smell the rose scent in this fragrance and its mixed with lily of the valley, pink peony, honey and freesia for a nice fresh and floral smell. Very sexy and sophisticated!

Price:
1.7oz $85
*expensive, yes I know, but its an Eau de Parfum which is more concentrated, one spritz is enough to last all day

Marc Jacobs 'Daisy Eau So Fresh'
Marc Jacobs 'Daisy' has been a best seller, and still is, ever since its launch in 2007, I mean, nothing would look cuter on your dresser than a 'Daisy' bottle right? Their new fragrance 'Daisy Eau So Fresh' is more fruity than the original 'Daisy' but still has a bit of a passive floral scent to it and it is very light as well as very youthful and playful. The concoction contains hints of wild rose, pear, apple blossom, lychee and even green leaves. Just the smell of this fragrance will leave you with happy thoughts!

Price:
4.25oz $85
2.5oz $70

Chanel 'Chance Eau Tendre'
Usually when you think about Chanel fragrances, you automatically think, very bold and powerful scents. However, their new fragrance 'Chance Eau Tendre', which is a spin off of the regular 'Chance' is so light and delicate, it has been selling like crazy ever since its launch back in late 2010. There are hints of grapefruit, quince , jasmine, and white musk that are all mixed to create the perfect floral, fruity combination. Its a very flirty kind of scent, so it would be perfect to wear for date night!

Price:
3.4oz $90
1.7oz $65

Quick Tip:
Fragrances travel UP. Try spraying one spritz of your favorite fragrance on the back of each knee. You will find that it will last longer!

Review: Sigma Brush Set 'Make Me Classy'

Price: $99
12 Brushes
Cylinder Case
Free Gift - 1 Travel Sized Blending Brush
www.signmabeauty.com

I was dying to get new brushes and it was a toss up between getting a Sigma brush set or buying a whole bunch of MAC ones.. In the end, I decided to go outside of my box and try the Sigma ones!! and OMG, I love them! I used them for the first time this past Saturday to do a prom makeover and they were so amazing! (Ill try to get a photo).

They come in a cute sleek black case which is perfect for carrying your brushes and to keep the bristles from getting all feathered out and bent. I chose this set particularly for the case because I hate using brush belts... they never fit me and its hard to see all of your brushes when its hanging below you. The portable case comes apart in two little brush cups where you can stand your brushes up. I like to seperate mines with eye and concealer brushes in one and then face brushes in another so its more organized and easier to find what I am looking for. They come in different colors also which are Purple, Coral and Aqua. I chose black because I like my things looking in unison.

I only put my eye and concealer brushes in the canister though because I have a lot more brushes than just the Sigma ones and they wouldnt hold ALL of them. If I had put my face brushes in there, for one, they wouldnt all fit, and two, when I close it, I wouldnt want any of the bristles getting caught and bent.

The set comes with a total of 12 brushes which are a mix of natural and synthetic bristles. Total bargain for what you get!

Eye/Concealer Brushes: (from left to right)
  • Small Angle E65 (synthetic)
  • Tapered Blending E40 (natural)
  • Medium Angle Shading E70 (natural)
  • Concealer F70 (synthetic)
  • Eye Shading E55 (natural)
  • Large Shader E60 (natural)
  • Pencil E30 (natural)
  • Eyeliner E05 (synthetic)
My favorites out of the eye brushes are the pencil, eyeliner and small angle brushes. Great for smudging the upper and lower lashlines and for a precise line for cream and gel liners as well as filling in spars hairs in your brow. The tapered blending is just okay, its a bit larger than I expected, but still works. The medium angle shading is pretty good, its great for contouring the eye. Concealer, havent tried yet. Eye shading and large shader are both good, gets the job done.

Face Brushes: (from left to right)
  • Foundation F60 (synthetic)
  • Large Angled Contour F40 (natural)
  • Duo Fibre F50 (natural and synthetic blend)
  • Large Powder F30 (natural)
I love all the face brushes! The foundation brush does not streak at all and blends perfectly! The contour brush does just that! It contours! The duo fibre brush is my favorite out of the face brushes because its so soft and it picks up just the right amount of product. Large powder brush I found will shed when you first clean them (clean before using), but the bristles are so soft and great for applying a setting powder.

It also came with a free gift which was a travel sized blending brush S25, which I believe is the E25 in travel size. I think its made out of natural bristles also, but dont quote me on that. I was a little weary about this brush but it actually works very good. Its not as soft as the other brushes so it picks up color great.
I think shipping was free for me because I used a coupon code, which saved me tons! As we all know, shipping to Hawaii can be pretty expensive!

Quick Tip:

When buying online, always try to look for special coupons, discounts, or promotions. If they dont have one at the moment, WAIT, because they usually will sometime in the future. If its a limited edition product then of course if you just have to have it, then buy it. Other than that, coupon codes have saved me a whole lot of money.

But beware of certain coupon codes because sometimes they say 'free shipping' but always read the fine print! Sometimes they exclude Hawaii and Alaska, especially for International Orders, usually you almost always have to pay for shipping. One of my favorite sites to check for coupon codes and discounts is: http://www.retailmenot.com/

What are your favorite brushes? Any thoughts on the Sigma Brushes? Or any tips on how to shop online?

I dont know about you guys, but I just cant wait for this collection, I am soooo excited!!! And of course I loooove the Nail Laquer in 'Mischeivous Mint', I just might have to get it! I was a little disappointed though about the packaging... It would have made this collection 10 times better if the packaging were cute and went along with the collection name 'Quite Cute'.

However, I love pastel colors and I think the lip colors that they came out with for the lipsticks, plushglasses and lip liners are pretty unique so I might try those. Not too crazy about the eyeshadow palette though since you could probably get similar colors individually, accept maybe 'Moshi Moshi!', I think I'm just going to name 'mint green' as the color of the month already =)

If anyone out there gets their hands on this collection please let me know, I would love to hear your feedback on what you liked and didnt like about this collection!

Launch Date: April 7th 2011

From Left to Right:

Prep + Prime Highlighter $23
  • Light Boost - soft yellow cream
  • Bright Forecast - mid tone peachy coral
  • Radiant Rose - light shell pink
Prep + Prime Vibrancy Eye $30
  • Supposed to reduce puffiness and undereye dark circles while adding radiance
Another launch I am excited about, just because I looove looove looove Diors 'Skinflash' and YSL 'Touche Eclat' which is very similar, almost an exact replica of this MAC Prep + Prime Highlighter pen, without the outrageous price! You could use it as just a highlighter to brighten any shadows under your eye, above your brows, bridge of the nose, chin, and cheekbones or you can use it as an eyeshadow primer. The brush tip applicator is great to effectively place the product exactly where you want it. I am crossing my fingers that this will be a great product!

What do you think? Will it live up to the Dior 'Skinflash' and YSL 'Touche Eclat'?

Favorite Spring Color: Mint Green

'Jet Screamer' by gaucho chizler from Colourlovers.com

Mint green has got to be one of my favorite colors of all time, and what better time to wear mint green than Springtime!! I love it because it has sort of a vintage feel and its not too vibrant a color that it will take away from anything else your wearing. You can wear it as a nail polish, eye color, on your shoes, bags, jewelry, or even hair accessory. Here are some of my mint green findings!
